The Courts

To inspire you for the world of the Elvenlight Ball, we offer you the opportunity to assign yourself to a court:

Dominus

Court of Power

Description

The Court of Power, known as Dominus, rises atop a majestic plateau of deep purple amethyst. These gemstones symbolize not only power, but also wisdom and spiritual strength. The palaces and towers of the court are constructed of polished amethyst and exude an aura of mystery that inspires both awe and admiration.

History and culture

Founded by Lord Maelorian, one of the most powerful mages in the elven world, the Court of Power is the center of magical research and political power. The elves here are known for their mastery of magic and their ability to control the elements. The political leadership of the elven kingdom often emanates from this court, and many important decisions are made here.

Customs and rituals

One of the most important rituals is the Amethyst Festival, where the strongest magicians demonstrate their powers and celebrate new magical discoveries. New leaders are also crowned in an elaborate ceremony accompanied by powerful spells and illusions.

The young queen shined brighter than Lord Maelorian himself. She lives the crown and does everything to live up to it. She learns to suppress her own desires and is ready to make the greatest sacrifice for her country and the entire world.

Perfidae

Court of Betrayl

Description

The Court of Betrayal, known as Perfidae, is hidden in the dark mountains, whose foundations are made of jet black onyx. These stones are a symbol of secrets, betrayal and darkness. The fortresses and towers of this court are built of black onyx, which absorbs the light and creates an ominous atmosphere.

History and culture

Perfidae was once a bright and prosperous court, until the betrayal of Prince Thalion, a member of the royal family, plunged the place into darkness. Thalion allied himself with dark forces to seize control, leading to a devastating civil war. Since then, the court has been known as a place of distrust and intrigue.

Customs and rituals

A central ritual since Thalion's rise to power is the Night Festival, during which the elves honor the power of darkness and their own dark sides. During this festival, complicated games and intrigues are staged to test the participants' wits and cunning. Treason is not considered a disgrace here, but rather a proof of intelligence and strategic thinking.

Thalion's son tries to restore his kingdom of Perfidae to its former glory by legally marrying into the court of Courageis, and yet his motive does not seem to be born out of pure selflessness...

All courts are regularly invited to the Elvenlight Ball in Dominus, where they celebrate what gives hope in all its facets: light.
Thalion's predecessors were an important part of the festivities, embodying the moon and starlight, but since dark forces took hold at court, there was no longer a ball where the courts celebrated together - until Thalion's son announced his presence and impending engagement to the youngest princess of Courageis.
Together with the recently crowned Queen of Dominus, the three young elves are supposed to symbolize the sunrise, sunset and moonlight and thus reunite the kingdom...

Courageis

Court of Courage

Description

The Court of Courage, known as Courageis, is perched on a cliff whose floor is made of glowing rose quartz. These pink shimmering stones symbolize both the strength and purity of those who live here. Courage is not just a virtue, but the essence of every elf who calls this court home. The buildings are a soft pink and ornately decorated with crystals that glitter in the sunlight and emit a calming, warm glow at night.

History and culture

The Court of Courage was founded by the legendary elven queen Elanaria, who once defeated a powerful underworld entity and liberated the land. Her sword, called the Heart of the Veil, is the centerpiece of the court and is displayed in a shrine. The court is known for its brave warriors, both male and female, who are distinguished by their fearlessness and unwavering belief in justice.

Customs and rituals

The Lionheart ritual takes place every year, where young elves must pass tests of courage to be recognized as full members of society. These tests range from battles against magical beasts to daring rescue missions.

During one such rescue mission, the youngest princess met the Prince of Perfidae and vowed to help him break free from his dark bonds.
